SEMBA has declared its commitment to SBT Initiative
SEMBA CORPORATION (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Daisuke Yashima; hereinafter “Semba”) submitted a letter of commitment to Science Based Targets initiative (hereinafter “SBTi”), an institution that certifies the “Science Based Targets” (hereinafter “SBT”). SBT provides companies with a clearly-defined path to reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement goals. . Semba has successfully become one of the committed companies of SBT.
１. Semba’s contribution to environmental preservation
Semba has been exerting ethical activities since 2021and is declaring Creating Future Friendly Spaces as its corporate mission, Good Ethical Company as its corporate vision. Semba promotes the idea of Semba Ethical Design Thinking. Everyone at Semba is encouraged to “Rethink” all of their spatial design processes from the perspective of compassion towards people, the local community and the global environment. In order to reduce the environmental burden and realize a sustainable society, Semba strives to obtain SBT certification.
２. About SBTi
SBTi is a global standard for formulating emissions reduction targets in line with the Paris Agreement. Established in 2015 to promote science-based targets for greenhouse gas emission reduction, SBTi is a global initiative partnership between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, WRI (World Resources Institute), and WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature).
