Three of our employees were selected as one of the thirteen finalists for the “the City OS Ideathon at Bang Sue Smart City” and one of them received the “Judges’ Special Prize”.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, this ideathon invites ideas for smart services that will make the development around the Bang Sue Central Station in Bangkok more attractive. The theme of the event is “A city that leads a ‘different lifestyle before’ filled with comfort and wellbeing, taking advantage of its characteristics as a transportation hub”.

The idea is to systematically connect solar energy and food stalls, thereby transforming the Bang Sue district, home to Southeast Asia’s one of the largest terminal station, from a transportation hub into an “eco-friendly city to visit” that uses clean and sustainable energy.

■What is the City OS Ideathon at Bang Sue Smart City?
This is an ideathon organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan as part of Smart JAMP, a support program implemented by Japan to help ASEAN countries realize smart cities. It was held for the purpose of studying the specifications of the urban OS (Data Linkage Infrastructure) and related smart technologies for the Bang sue area, which is planned to be constructed in the future in the smart city development around Bang sue Central Station in Bangkok, Thailand.
